Include your device model, operating-system version, and what happened. You do not need to send a recording. Only attach audio if you want the developer to listen to it.

Before you write

Recording: allow microphone access in your device settings, then try a short sung or hummed phrase.

Playback: check device volume and the mute controls for each part.

Cloud saving: check the saving status in the app’s Settings. Only changes confirmed as saved are protected by cloud recovery.

Recordings and on-device processing

The app uses the microphone when you start recording. Pitch detection, audio editing, and sheet-music generation happen on your device. Project names, original recordings, detected notes, edits, and correction settings are saved locally. Browser versions store their library in that browser’s storage, which may differ between browsers.

Acapella Pal has no separate app account, advertising, or analytics. Your recordings are not sent to the developer for analysis.

Cloud storage and favorites

On supported iOS builds with cloud saving enabled, the app saves original recordings and editable projects to the private app database of your existing iCloud account. Favorite tag IDs and changes can also sync through iCloud. This requires connectivity, an available iCloud account, and sufficient storage. Settings shows whether cloud saving is available and whether current edits are confirmed.

Cloud version history can retain earlier recordings and edits after a project is removed from the library. Deleting the app does not erase its cloud data. The developer does not receive access to your private iCloud library. On Android, local app data and favorites may be included in the phone’s automatic backup, subject to your device’s backup settings; this version does not provide Android cross-device favorites sync.

Tags and third-party requests

The Tags section sends searches and download requests directly to BarbershopTags.com. That service receives requested search terms or tag IDs and normal connection information, including your IP address. Your recordings and edits are not sent to it. Imported learning tracks are processed on your device. Favorites and cached tag descriptions are stored locally, with iCloud syncing where enabled.

Exporting and sharing

MP3, PDF, and MusicXML files go only to the location or sharing destination you choose. Exported files are separate from your editable project. Copies you share are subject to the recipient’s or destination service’s own practices.

Retention, deletion, and your choices

Local project data remains until you remove it, clear the browser’s storage, or delete the app. Deleted parts can remain in the app’s recoverable deleted-parts list. Offloading an iPhone app keeps its local data; deleting the app removes its local library. Cloud history and separately exported files may remain after local deletion.

You can revoke microphone permission in device or browser settings. To remove cloud-stored information on iPhone, open Settings → your name → iCloud → Storage or Manage Account Storage, select Acapella Pal if listed, and use its data-removal control. Labels and availability vary by iOS version. If no app entry or deletion control is available, contact support for help. The developer cannot access or delete your private iCloud content on your behalf. Remove exported copies from the locations where you saved them. Check the app’s saving status before deleting local data or changing devices.
